Cadillac to Join the Race

General Motors
Itâs official - Cadillac is joining Formula 1 in 2026
Americanâs rejoice, we no longer have to look at Haas to (mis)represent the âLand of the Freeâ on the grid. General Motors, through its Cadillac brand, has joined up with Andretti Global to enter the Worldâs Constructors Championship.
This agreement comes after 3 years of negotiations between the two companies and Formula 1âs internal rights holder, Liberty Media.
The 11th team on the grid will be housing Ferrari engines until they are ready to use their own power unit, expected to be in 2028. No drivers have been announced as of yet.

Keep Charging On - Despite Friction

The shift toward electric vehicles isnât going quite as plannedâat least, not according to a few car companies.
Despite EPA regulations pushing manufacturers to adapt to the "new world" of electric vehicles by 2032, it seems the public isnât sold just yet. Maybe weâre all waiting for those half a million charging stations that are supposed to magically appear by 2030.
Toyotaâs North America COO, Jack Hollis, hasnât held back on his thoughts about the U.S.âs policies, calling them âde facto mandatesâ that donât exactly align with what consumers want. Sure, recent EV sales are on the rise, but even Toyota isnât feeling confident. The company just announced theyâre slashing their 2026 global EV production target by a whopping thirdâfrom 1.5 million down to 1 million vehicles.
Then thereâs Ford, which jumped into the EV game early but is still trying to figure out how to make these high-tech rides profitable. Building the Mustang Mach-E and Lightning hasnât come cheap, and the financials show it. Fordâs EV division racked up a $4.9 billion loss in the first three quarters of 2024. Ouch.
