🔥 An American Spark

Driving the conversation: News, trends, and events for car enthusiasts

Welcome

Seems like the American manufacturers are a little track obsessed at the moment and we’re totally okay with that. Ford has gone absolutely mental with their record setting Mustang GTD, and now Chevy are rewriting record in the height of a winter storm with their baby 458.

Industry News

Breaking Records, Not Budgets (Kind of)

Chevrolet

Chevy has only just recently unveiled the new ZR1, and even in the winter, it’s check off records one at a time. Packing a twin-turbocharged 5.5L V8, it cranks out 850 horsepower (not the rumored 1,000+), but still enough to make record holders nervous.

It’s faster than a McLaren Senna around Virginia International Raceway and has set new lap records at five U.S. tracks. Expect 0-60 mph in under 2.6 seconds and a top speed north of 200 mph.

The ZR1’s aggressive stance comes with wider fenders, a new front splitter, and that high-downforce rear wing. For track goodies, it has a more track-focused suspension, advanced cooling systems, and carbon-ceramic brakes.

Pricing hasn’t been confirmed, but estimates put it around $150,000+ when it hits production later this year. Time to start justifying it as an “investment.”
