Bugatti’s V16 might get a real manual

Bugatti’s top boss says he wants the brand’s V16 paired with a genuine manual transmission. Better yet for the purists, he doesn’t want a workaround designed to merely imitate the experience, saying he won’t “fake it like Ferrari.”

In a world where paddle shifters have become the norm at the sharp end of the performance market, even the desire to pair a V16 with a proper manual is enough to get our attention.

There is an important catch: this is a leadership want, not a confirmed production program. There are no promises here yet. Still, when the person at the top is advocating for three pedals, enthusiasts have reason to keep watching.
