Honda and Nissan Join Forces to Prepare for the EV Era
Honda and Nissan are planning a massive merger by 2026 to become the world’s third-largest automaker, following Toyota and Volkswagen. This move is designed to help the companies compete with EV leaders like Tesla and rising challengers such as China’s BYD.
The merger will establish a joint holding company led by Honda, with Nissan and potentially Mitsubishi (in which Nissan owns a stake) involved. While the brands will maintain their unique identities, they’ll collaborate on EV technology and streamline production to cut costs and boost efficiency.
With projected annual sales of 30 trillion yen and operating profits exceeding 3 trillion yen, the partnership could redefine Japan’s automotive industry. The agreement is expected by mid-2025, with full integration and Tokyo Stock Exchange listing by 2026.
This alliance signals a strategic shift as traditional automakers race to adapt to the electric vehicle era and maintain relevance in a fast-changing market.

A Look at the Evolution of Porsche

Slap a silhouette of a Porsche 911 on a wall, and nearly anyone will recognize it. Doesn’t matter which generation—it’s iconic. The same could be said about a Mini, Mustang, Beetle or most Aston Martins. It’s the mark of timeless design.
Yet the name “Porsche” brings to mind far more than just great design. It represents the pinnacle of sports cars—a brand rich in heritage and beloved by enthusiasts. Porsche follows a fairly standard formula, making only incremental changes each year—tweaking perfection. For over 50 years, the Porsche 911 has been the gold standard of sports cars.
Ask a group of car enthusiasts about the greatest sports car of the past half-century, and chances are, they’ll unanimously agree: it’s a Porsche.
Many of us know the story, but here’s a deep dive into the history of the uprising of the trendiest car at RSF - Porsche.
