Mercedes Confirms the âBaby Gâ

Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed a smaller, more accessible version of its iconic G-Class SUV, often referred to as the "baby G." While details remain under wraps, thereâs strong speculation that it will debut as an electric vehicle, aligning with the brandâs expanding EV strategy.
Beyond the new model, Mercedes is shifting toward a âunified design philosophy,â integrating its electric and combustion-engine models rather than keeping them visually distinct. Not ideal for those of us that like a little character with our vehicles.
This isnât the first time Mercedes has attempted to distill the G-Wagenâs appeal into a smaller packageâthe Concept GLB tried in 2019 but lacked the rugged DNA of its larger counterpart. The new compact G-Class, however, promises to be a true extension of the legendary off-roader, blending capability with modern efficiency.
